Massena is located in St. Lawrence County in northernmost New York. Our community marks the eastern terminus of the Seaway Trail, a federally-designated national scenic byway. The St. Lawrence River forms the border between Canada and the U.S. In Massena you will find the awe-inspiring Eisenhower & Snell Locks, a huge hydroelectric dam operated by the New York Power Authority, and the lovely Robert Moses State Park. ALCOA, Inc., and General Motors are two major industries located in the town, employing some 2,000 people between them. Massena offers a rural lifestyle with convenient shopping, top notch schools, low electric rates from our municipal utility, many outdoor and indoor recreational opportunities and is within an easy drive of the large Canadian cities of Montreal & Ottawa.

The Greater Massena Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit organization incorporated May 29, 1931. Since that time the Chamber of Commerce has promoted Massena as a tourist attraction and as a good place to visit and settle. The Chamber works to promote the interests of its members, as well as those of the community and the North Country region. Its objectives are:

To promote Massena as an attractive place to visit and relocate
To increase Economic Growth through promoting the development of business, industry and tourism
To serve as a partner with Local Government in identifying community needs and providing recommendations for solutions
To act as a "Clearing House" for the Greater Massena Area, including community events and activities
To ensure that all of the above objectives ultimately lead to the improvement of quality of life

There are over 360 members who belong to the Chamber, including businesses, not-forprofit organizations and individuals. Seventeen of these members are on the Board of Directors and five serve on the Executive Board.

The Chamber's Main Street office handles in excess of 7000 inquiries each year, including requests from Europe, Canada and across the United States related to activities and relocation information for Massena and the surrounding area.
